Avin HannahSmith is a multidisciplinary artist and educator born, raised, and based in Chicago. He was nominated for the sculpture program at the Ox-Bow School of Art and the Ground Floor at Hyde Park Art Center. His work was featured in the LP Herald Dispatch, ShoutOut Michigan, CanvasRebel, and Columbia Feature. He has exhibited in the Lubeznik Center for the Arts, the Chesterton Art Center, and South Shore Arts. He has recently been an art adjudicator for the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards in the Chicago Art region. He is a current member of the Professional Practices Committee in the College Arts Association. HannahSmith is a current resident of the Dark Matter Residency at Elastic Arts in Chicago, Illinois. He is currently an associate professor in the School of Art at Indiana University-South Bend. He received his BFA in Painting from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. He recently received his MFA in Studio Art from Columbia College Chicago.
